We are currently seeking a Junior Network Engineer to support our client in Charlotte, North Carolina. The position has the overall responsibility for implementing services to meet the customer’s requirements, both technically and logistically.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist in the configuring of computer hardware and networks
  • Install and configure routers, switches, and wireless equipment
  • Access ticketing system to review and respond to network issues
  • Monitor network management system to verify availability of network devices
  • Provide remote configuration of routers and switches when necessary
  • Make firewall rule changes when necessary
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned

Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge

  • You have CCNA or are working toward certification (NOTE: CCNA is preferred over working toward the certification)
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Tech from a 4-year accredited University or College such as: BS in Technology, BS in Electronics and Communication, BS in Electrical Engineering, BS in Mechanical Engineering, BS in Computer Science OR you hold an Associate’s degree in a technical field related to network engineering
  • Familiarity with Port security and ACL switch management protocols
  • Familiarity with Network management standards like CISCO prime or Solarwinds
  • You have 6 months to 1 year in a Network Technician role
  • Your personality is dynamic and you possess the ability to establish and maintain a rapport with customers at both the business and technical level
  • You demonstrate excellent communication in English, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to lift 50–60 pounds on a regular and daily basis
  • Ability to work under the stress of maintaining proper liaison between department heads, Managers, Temporary Employees and customers
  • Ability to exchange information clearly and concisely and to present ideas, report facts, and other information
  • Ability to understand and follow safety/security practices
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites during the workday
